{"id":370,"count":2,"description":"The Capitolium<\/strong> is one of the seven primitive hills of Rome<\/a>, and one of the most important in history, although it was the smallest of them. Indeed, it was the religious center during antiquity, dominated by the Temple of Jupiter<\/strong> which disappeared long ago.\r\nIts physiognomy has changed a lot, with today its beautiful Capitoline Square<\/strong><\/a>. This one is inherited from the Renaissance and the work of Michelangelo.\r\nThere is the town hall and twin palaces that house the Capitoline Museums<\/strong><\/a> with its important collection of antiquities. In the center stands the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius, while opposite the majestic staircase is framed by the two colossal ancient statues of Castor and Pollux.\r\nThe hill still dominates the Roman Forum<\/strong>, on which one has beautiful views to the east, up to the Colosseum and beyond.
